The Scenario

An Indian Multinational conglomerate with business interests across a wide range of industrial sectors like infrastructure, energy, steel and cement decided to focus on the issue of increasing gender diversity at their workplace. An important part of this strategic plan was to bring forth mindset change and behavioural change.

Towards this goal, Avtar was consulted to customize and deliver a series of Non-conscious Bias training sessions across different locations in India to address this need.

What we did

We customized the B-DivIne: Non-conscious Bias training program keeping in mind the unique nature of the challenges present in the manufacturing industry. The training sessions were designed with the learning objectives of making participant  become more self-aware about the nature and prevalence of bias and to enable them to address and minimize biases at the workplace. A series of experiential classroom sessions were delivered across multiple plant locations across India by expert facilitators within a span of 6 months.

Outcome

The training sessions garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback and comments from participants.

  • 97.5% of participants found the training facilitator’s style was good or excellent
  • 96.4% of participants found the content and activities included in the training sessions to be of good or excellent standard
  • Overall there was a massive 74% increase in the skill and knowledge level of the participants that attended the Non-conscious Bias training sessions
